There are couple of upcoming sport events around Europe this summer, including the Olympics in London and French open (Roland Garros). Let’s hear your opinion in any game of your choice and interest.
I am so much looking forward to the French Open, which is just around the corner. It is going to be fascinating; particularly the men Tennis, where the top seed ‘Novak Djokovic’ is chasing four straight gram slams in a row and the only gram slam he is yet to win.
The Men number 1 player was almost invisible last year winning a total of 70 matches with only 6 loses. Although the Serbian top seed is not looking impeccable so far this year haven loss two master’s finals to Rafael Nadal, I still count him as one of the favourites to win the French Open.
Rafael Nadal on the other hand is difficult to beat when he is playing this good and on his favourite surface “Clay”. I strongly believe his two recent wins against Novak Djokovic will boost his metal believe and could win the title for the 7th times.
It is hard to speak about Tennis without mentioning Roger Federer. The All time greatest player can pose a threat to any player. However, he has not been able to stay error free; hence he has not won any gram slam in recent years.
The ladies Tennis will be discussed on this blog, but before then, let me hear your take on French Open 2012 and the olympics
This is perhaps one of the biggest upsets. Serena William is out of the French Open in the first round. I could have sworn she is the favourite to win the lady’s title. It is really shocking!....but you have to give credit to Virginie Razzano who put up a good fight against the almighty William.
ReplyDeleteVictoria Azarenka and Novak Djokovic have just lost their first set in the 4th round of the French Open. I hope we see a good fight back from these two top seeds.
ReplyDeleteThe lady’s world number one "Victoria Azarenka" is out of the French Open tournament. So much to talk about in the ladies game. Djokovic is also in big trouble with two set down.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Novak Djokovic came from behind to beat Tsonga in epic contest – saving four match points. Fantastic game from both players....really hard luck for Tsonga.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Nov winning the tournament. He is not playing as good as he was last year.
ReplyDeleteWell Kevin.......I think it will be hard for any player to repeat what Djokovic did in 2011. I can't count him out yet, but I still believe Nadal is the Man to beat.
ReplyDeleteWho can stop Nadal? he is certainly playing well and he is still yet to loose a set. murray is dumped out..he really lacks intensity and strenght to play these top lads.
ReplyDeleteGreat semifinal game in both the women and men game. I expected a better game from Federer again Djokovic though. At least get a set. Anyway, I am so Looking forward to the Finals
